CHICAGO – Federal authorities arrested Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich Tuesday on charges that he brazenly conspired to sell or trade the Senate seat left vacant by President-elect Barack Obama to the highest bidder. The arrested Illinois Governor and the President Elect both had the same corrupt campaign fundraiser Tony Renko.

Blagojevich also was charged with illegally threatening to withhold state assistance to Tribune Co., the owner of the Chicago Tribune, in the sale of Wrigley Field, according to a federal criminal complaint. The investigation was ignited by a corrupt Blagojevich administration. The focus of the corruption in the federal investigation involves an alleged $7 million scheme aimed at squeezing kickbacks out of companies seeking business from the state. In addition, the federal prosecutors have acknowledged that they\’re also investigating \”serious allegations of endemic hiring fraud\” under Blagojevich.

The arrested Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is alleged to return state assistance, to members that had been critical of him fired. It is alleged that the Governor Blagojevich allegedly wanted members who had been critical of him fired. In the federal complaint is alleged that were of the paper\’s editorial board at the Tribune Company. The owner of the members\’ editorial board at the Tribune Company is the Chicago Tribune,

The FBI produced a 75 page affidavit, that alleges that the Illinois Governor:

also discussed getting a substantial salary for himself at a nonprofit foundation or an organization affiliated with labor unions.

He also allegedly discussed getting campaign funds for himself or possibly a post in the president\’s cabinet or an ambassadorship once he left the governor\’s office.
