Dear Friends,

The election of Barack Obama as the next President of the United States has been a joyous and historic occasion. The enthusiasm that his candidacy inspired has carried over to the much anticipated swearing-in ceremony to take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. To date, my office has received over 16,000 requests for unfortunately a very limited number of tickets. If you are receiving this letter, please be rest assured that your ticket request is on file with us. If you are selected to receive tickets, a member of my staff will contact you the week prior to Inauguration Day with all the necessary instructions. Please keep in mind that large portions of the National Mall will be made available as well for both the parade and ceremony. You can visit http://inaugural.senate.gov/ and http://inauguration.dc.gov/index.asp for additional information. I have braved the January elements for several presidential inaugurations and I can say it is a unique and memorable experience. Thank you for your interest in being a part of this historic event.

Sincerely,

Donna Edwards

Member of Congress
