In the book of Genesis, Cain was the brother who slew his brother man who put his whole heart into everything he did, he loved God. Abel obeyed god and Abel hearkened to the voice of God (I Samuel 15:22, II Kings 13:23, and Genesis 4:16). God recompensated Cain by vengeance and put a seal of death by seven-folds (Genesis 4:15 and Psalm 79:12. Abel, was Cain’s brother and he was slew by his own brother. Abel was the keeper of the sheep and brought the firstlings of his flock and also the fat and the Lord respected the offering from Abel.

Earlier, we studied the Portion of Shemini, Leviticus 10:1, what occurred in this back drop is that God did not accept the incense offering, read The Death of Nadab and Abihu

1 Aaron\’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, contrary to his command. 2 So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD. 3 Moses then said to Aaron, \”This is what the LORD spoke of when he said:
\” \’Among those who approach me
I will show myself holy;
in the sight of all the people
I will be honored.\’ \”
Aaron remained silent.

The offering that is made by strange fire is not accepted. The Royalty did not lie or repent and were actually God-fearing men. Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu lived righteous lives. Since the incense was lit by strange fire then the Lord did not accept it. God explains what kind of incense, frankincense and censors that he will accept. For this reason Nadab and Abihu died immediately of smoke inhalation; the smoke inhalation occurred to the sinew of the nostrils.

Although I don’t have a first fruit of the flocking to give the Lord as a burn offering (1 bullock, 2 rams and unleavened bread), I pray that he will accept my in his sight. I don’t want to be like Ahimelech fleeing for my life with an Ephod in my hand. I want to walk boldly before the heathens and my brethren who have circumcised hearts and do the will of God.

Then if Nadab and Abihu were God fearing then why did one congregation refuse to carry the Torah and said that you have to have righteous living to? These are some of the questions that we will answer and respond to on the next post, with biblical insight and wisdom (Genesis 32:24; Ezekiel 37:4; Exodus 30:7-10; and Exodus 15:10
