Sh’ma Yis ra-el adonai Eloheinu Adonai ehad. Hear, O Israel: Adonai’s is our God, Adonai alone.

How beautiful re your tents, O people of Jacob, and your dwelling places, O Israelites!

Ma tovu ohleha Yaako, mishkenoteha Yisrael.

Va’ani b’rov hasdeha, avo veiteha, eshtaheoreh el heihal kod’shea b’yirateha.

1. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

א. וַיְדַבֵּר יְ־הֹוָ־ה אֶל מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר:

2. Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: The Lord\’s appointed [holy days] that you shall designate as holy occasions. These are My appointed [holy days]:

ב. דַּבֵּר אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם מוֹעֲדֵי יְ־הֹוָ־ה אֲשֶׁר תִּקְרְאוּ אֹתָם מִקְרָאֵי קֹדֶשׁ אֵלֶּה הֵם מוֹעֲדָי:

3. [For] six days, work may be performed, but on the seventh day, it is a complete rest day, a holy occasion; you shall not perform any work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.

ג. שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תֵּעָשֶׂה מְלָאכָה וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי שַׁבַּת שַׁבָּתוֹן מִקְרָא קֹדֶשׁ כָּל מְלָאכָה לֹא תַעֲשׂוּ שַׁבָּת הִוא לַי־הֹוָ־ה בְּכֹל מוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶם:

4. These are the Lord\’s appointed [holy days], holy occasions, which you shall designate in their appointed time:

ד. אֵלֶּה מוֹעֲדֵי יְ־הֹוָ־ה מִקְרָאֵי קֹדֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר תִּקְרְאוּ אֹתָם בְּמוֹעֲדָם:

5. In the first month, on the fourteenth of the month, in the afternoon, [you shall sacrifice] the Passover offering to the Lord.

ה. בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן בְּאַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר לַחֹדֶשׁ בֵּין הָעַרְבָּיִם פֶּסַח לַי־הֹוָ־ה:

6. And on the fifteenth day of that month is the Festival of Unleavened Cakes to the Lord; you shall eat unleavened cakes for a seven day period.

ו. וּבַחֲמִשָּׁה עָשָׂר יוֹם לַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה חַג הַמַּצּוֹת לַי־הֹוָ־ה שִׁבְעַת יָמִים מַצּוֹת תֹּאכֵלוּ:

7. On the first day, there shall be a holy occasion for you; you shall not perform any work of labor.

ז. בַּיּוֹם הָרִאשׁוֹן מִקְרָא קֹדֶשׁ יִהְיֶה לָכֶם כָּל מְלֶאכֶת עֲבֹדָה לֹא תַעֲשׂוּ:

8. And you shall bring a fire offering to the Lord for a seven day period. On the seventh day, there shall be a holy occasion; you shall not perform any work of labor.

ח. וְהִקְרַבְתֶּם אִשֶּׁה לַי־הֹוָ־ה שִׁבְעַת יָמִים בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי מִקְרָא קֹדֶשׁ כָּל מְלֶאכֶת עֲבֹדָה לֹא תַעֲשׂוּ:

9. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

ט. וַיְדַבֵּר יְ־הֹוָ־ה אֶל מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר:

10. Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When you come to the Land which I am giving you, and you reap its harvest, you shall bring to the kohen an omer of the beginning of your reaping.

י. דַּבֵּר אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם כִּי תָבֹאוּ אֶל הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי נֹתֵן לָכֶם וּקְצַרְתֶּם אֶת קְצִירָהּ וַהֲבֵאתֶם אֶת עֹמֶר רֵאשִׁית קְצִירְכֶם אֶל הַכֹּהֵן:

11. And he shall wave the omer before the Lord so that it will be acceptable for you; the kohen shall wave it on the day after the rest day.

יא. וְהֵנִיף אֶת הָעֹמֶר לִפְנֵי יְ־הֹוָ־ה לִרְצֹנְכֶם מִמָּחֳרַת הַשַּׁבָּת יְנִיפֶנּוּ הַכֹּהֵן:

12. And on the day of your waving the omer, you shall offer up an unblemished lamb in its [first] year as a burnt offering to the Lord;

יב. וַעֲשִׂיתֶם בְּיוֹם הֲנִיפְכֶם אֶת הָעֹמֶר כֶּבֶשׂ תָּמִים בֶּן שְׁנָתוֹ לְעֹלָה לַי־הֹוָ־ה:

13. Its meal offering [shall be] two tenths [of an ephah] of fine flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to the Lord as a spirit of satisfaction. And its libation [shall be] a quarter of a hin of wine.

יג. וּמִנְחָתוֹ שְׁנֵי עֶשְׂרֹנִים סֹלֶת בְּלוּלָה בַשֶּׁמֶן אִשֶּׁה לַי־הֹוָ־ה רֵיחַ נִיחֹחַ וְנִסְכֹּה יַיִן רְבִיעִת הַהִין:

14. You shall not eat bread or [flour made from] parched grain or fresh grain, until this very day, until you bring your God\’s sacrifice. [This is] an eternal statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.

יד. וְלֶחֶם וְקָלִי וְכַרְמֶל לֹא תֹאכְלוּ עַד עֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה עַד הֲבִיאֲכֶם אֶת קָרְבַּן אֱלֹהֵיכֶם חֻקַּת עוֹלָם לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם בְּכֹל מֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶם:

15. And you shall count for yourselves, from the morrow of the rest day from the day you bring the omer as a wave offering seven weeks; they shall be complete.

טו. וּסְפַרְתֶּם לָכֶם מִמָּחֳרַת הַשַּׁבָּת מִיּוֹם הֲבִיאֲכֶם אֶת עֹמֶר הַתְּנוּפָה שֶׁבַע שַׁבָּתוֹת תְּמִימֹת תִּהְיֶינָה:

16. You shall count until the day after the seventh week, [namely,] the fiftieth day, [on which] you shall bring a new meal offering to the Lord.

טז. עַד מִמָּחֳרַת הַשַּׁבָּת הַשְּׁבִיעִת תִּסְפְּרוּ חֲמִשִּׁים יוֹם וְהִקְרַבְתֶּם מִנְחָה חֲדָשָׁה לַי־הֹוָ־ה:

17. From your dwelling places, you shall bring bread, set aside, two [loaves] [made from] two tenths [of an ephah]; they shall be of fine flour, [and] they shall be baked leavened, the first offering to the Lord.

יז. מִמּוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶם תָּבִיאּוּ לֶחֶם תְּנוּפָה שְׁתַּיִם שְׁנֵי עֶשְׂרֹנִים סֹלֶת תִּהְיֶינָה חָמֵץ תֵּאָפֶינָה בִּכּוּרִים לַי־הֹוָ־ה:

18. And associated with the bread, you shall bring seven unblemished lambs in their [first] year, one young bull, and two rams these shall be a burn offering to the Lord, [along with] their meal offering and libations a fire offering [with] a spirit of satis
faction to the Lord.

יח. וְהִקְרַבְתֶּם עַל הַלֶּחֶם שִׁבְעַת כְּבָשִׂים תְּמִימִם בְּנֵי שָׁנָה וּפַר בֶּן בָּקָר אֶחָד וְאֵילִם שְׁנָיִם יִהְיוּ עֹלָה לַי־הֹוָ־ה וּמִנְחָתָם וְנִסְכֵּיהֶם אִשֵּׁה רֵיחַ נִיחֹחַ לַי־הֹוָ־ה:

19. And you shall offer up one he goat as a sin offering, and two lambs in their [first] year as a peace offering._

יט. וַעֲשִׂיתֶם שְׂעִיר עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּאת וּשְׁנֵי כְבָשִׂים בְּנֵי שָׁנָה לְזֶבַח שְׁלָמִים:

20. And the kohen shall wave them in conjunction with the first offering bread as a waving before the Lord, along with the two lambs. They shall be holy to the Lord, [and] belong to the kohen.

כ. וְהֵנִיף הַכֹּהֵן אֹתָם עַל לֶחֶם הַבִּכּוּרִים תְּנוּפָה לִפְנֵי יְ־הֹוָ־ה עַל שְׁנֵי כְּבָשִׂים קֹדֶשׁ יִהְיוּ לַי־הֹוָ־ה לַכֹּהֵן:

21. And you shall designate on this very day a holy occasion it shall be for you; you shall not perform any work of labor. [This is] an eternal statute in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.

כא. וּקְרָאתֶם בְּעֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה מִקְרָא קֹדֶשׁ יִהְיֶה לָכֶם כָּל מְלֶאכֶת עֲבֹדָה לֹא תַעֲשׂוּ חֻקַּת עוֹלָם בְּכָל מוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶם לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם:

Dear Friends, what can happen during messianic times, and after we start counting the Omer, not only humility but the scriptures that I shared with you are for you to live by, Jesus said that he would send a comforter to equip you with the ability to live by these statutes and laws. Therefore, I challenge you not to die by them and my statutes and laws. You will not die if you die to sin; wickedness; transgression and deceit (John 16:5).

State of North Carolina, Franklin County

On this 12th day of September A.D. 1832 Personally appeared in open Court, before the Justices of the County Court of Franklin now sitting William Sanders a resident of Franklin and State of North Carolina aged 86 years; who being first sworn according to law, doth on his oath make the following

Declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7th, 1832 – That he entered the service of the United States under the following named officers and served as herein stated.– Viz.

That he was Drafted in the 2nd division of the North Carolina Militia (date not recollected) During the Revolution for the space of three months in the County of Bute that part of which is now Warren County and was marched from thence to the Town of Halifax called Head quarters and was there under

the Command of Colonel Nicholas Long where he was kept by Colonel Long for the space of 4 months instead of three when he was discharged by Colonel Long the said Discharge having long since been lost – he then returned home – And was again Drafted in Captain William Christmases Company about

a month afterwards for a three months Tour. And in a few days was marched on up the Country to Harrisburg – from thence through Hillsborough in said State to the Haw fields – General Greene\’s Head quarters, under Colonel Pink Eaton and General Thomas Eaton and was then marched under the command of General Eaton towards Guilford old Court House where there was a general Engagement

– between the enemy and the North Carolina and Virginia mili
tia – the former of which Retreated – General Greene commanding officer. The North Carolina militia with this applicant being one of them having been Put to flight rendezvoused at Halifax Town about two weeks afterward under the

command of Col. Pink Eaton – where they remained about 10 days. They was then marched directly towards Camblin [sic, Camden?] in the State of South Carolina to the Place called and known as Gates Defeat – on Lynches Creek after being there about three days – was discharged by Colonel Pink Eaton

after serving two months and 20 days in the latter engagement or service which discharge was signed by Colonel Pink Eaton and was taken by Captain Thomas Alston late of Warren County formally Bute being his friend & who were with James Turner late Governor of North Carolina, James Kearney & Benjamin Gutridge [sic, Guthridge?] home together and reached home about three months after they set out – all of whom are dead as he believes making in all six months and 20 days actual service in the two engagements besides about 10 days march from the Place in South Carolina where he and the rest of the company was discharged before they got home.

I hereby relinquish every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present and declare that my name is not on the Pension Roll of the agency of any State or (if any) only on that of the Agency of the State of North Carolina.

*What Captain Alston done with the said Discharge this applicant does not know he having long since died. That he was born in Caroline County in the State of Virginia that he formerly had a record of his age in a family Bible which by accident was six or eight years past torn out and the leaf lost – and he

has no exact record of his age. That he lived and now lives in the same section of Country ever since he came to North Carolina first – which was about 60 years ago the County of Bute formerly having been divided and out of which Warren and Franklin Counties were made.

He states that he is known by Presley C. Person, Jeremiah Perry & others who is acquainted with him but not with any Clergyman as he knows of.

Sworn to in open Court the 12th day of September 1832 and subscribed.
